President’s Message:
I am truly honored to be the new president of the South Carolina Society of Echocardiography. Over the past two years the previous SCSE leaders have laid a groundwork for an organization that can benefit all sonographers in our state. We have a board of directors that is filled with sonographers who share a common passion for our work and are driven to see the quality of our field improve through continuing education, improved working environments and better safety for sonographers.
We will have a number of exciting continuing education opportunities this year highlighted by our first SCSE Symposium to be held this October in Columbia. We will also offer CME opportunities to members on a quarterly basis. Among those opportunities we will have education on ergonomics and sonographer safety. Proper body mechanics are an imperative for a long career!
I am looking forward to seeing a large gathering in October. This society is something that has been needed in South Carolina for a long time and I hope to see it grow and become an influential force for leadership in the echo community. I encourage all of our members to help us recruit! This organization can accomplish great things with strong passionate members committed to quality.
